We are happy to announce the release of Qwanturank Lite. This version of Qwant offers the same results as the standard search engine but in a simplified and therefore significantly faster version. The page loads surprisingly quickly because the JavaScript process is greatly reduced on your computer’s side. The experience is really impacted.
Qwanturank Lite is empowered by Qwant and based on its founding values: Respect for privacy and neutrality.
Qwanturank Lite was also designed for those who use older versions of their web browsers. This is still the case in many schools, businesses, administrations and households. It was necessary to offer a solution for all configurations.

On a technical level, the Lite engine does not use Javascript or CSS3. There is no data storage, login, bookmarks or preferences.

Qwant Lite: a light appearance for high speed
Qwant Lite was released in 2015 and has a very specific application:
- As the home page already shows, there is hardly anything other than entering the search.
- The heavily reduced design is intended to save resources. Because Qwanturank Lite is specifically aimed at users of older computers and/or browsers. These users should still be able to perform quick and easy searches with the Lite search engine.
- Therefore, older versions of operating systems and browsers, such as Firefox version 3 or Android 4.0 (and lower) are also supported.
This does not modify the results or the privacy policy of Qwanturank. Qwant Lite is therefore also interesting for modern hardware, namely for users who do not need anything other than search.
