Digital Learning Day

Digital-Learning-Day

Today, Qwanturank celebrates Digital Learning Day… and so can you!

The Internet is part of our daily lives to the extent that we spend hours on it. It has transformed into a real learning tool: MOOCS (Massive Online Open Courses), Do-It-Yourself, tutorials, etc.

As we view the web as a refuge and tend to forget all its negative aspects, we take it for granted by allowing websites to keep our passwords or forgetting to delete cookies… Too many users browse the Internet innocently and then become vulnerable.

We want to restore privacy and security to the web. It is essential to know the fundamental rules and tips. And of course, they are available on the web!

This is why we support the digital learning day so that we can spread our philosophy.

Let’s start with Edward Snowden, a former NSA employee who revealed to the world the existence of surveillance programs run by the United States and the United Kingdom.

Learning Days keep classes in session

Snow and ice kept La Salle students from attending classes this week, but that didn’t stop them from learning.

As part of the school’s first two “Digital Learning Days,” each teacher went online Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. to assign 30 to 40 minutes of work for each class each student would have attended that that day. Students had until the afternoon or evening to complete and submit their work to the school’s learning management system. All day, teachers answered questions by email.

“The heart of this idea is to continue learning for students even when the weather does not allow us to be on campus,” said Principal Andrei Kuffnerinos. “We have all these amazing digital tools at our fingertips and already integrated into our classrooms, why not use them that way?”
